Are you interested in starting a career in adult social care but want to improve your English and build your confidence first? Our Entry Level ESOL Introduction to Care course is the ideal starting point. Specially designed for adults whose first language is not English, this short and supportive course introduces you to what it�s like to work in care settings such as care homes or supporting people in their own homes.��
Course Details
This course is led by an experienced ESOL tutor who understands the challenges of learning English and planning for a new career.�The course will help you learn about:What it�s like to work in adult care in the UKThe different types of jobs and settings (for example, care homes or supporting people in their own homes)Key duties such as helping with meals, daily routines, personal care and keeping people safeImportant values such as kindness, respect and dignityEnglish words and phrases used in care settings, including real world paper wordCommunication skills both verbal and non verbalYour next steps into care work or further studyYou don�t need any previous experience, just a willingness to learn and a desire to help others. Taught by a qualified ESOL tutor who understands the challenges of learning English for work, the course will help you explore different job roles, typical duties like helping with meals and routines, and the values that matter in care, such as kindness, dignity and respect. You�ll also build your confidence using the English language in care situations, from key vocabulary to body language and communication skills.�This course is a great first step towards further training or work in the care sector.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
There are no tests or exams. You�ll learn through fun, practical tasks and your tutor will give you regular feedback. You will track your progress on a simple learning plan together with your teacher.
Entry requirements
This short, friendly course is for people who are thinking about working in adult social care (such as care homes or home support) and want to understand more about the job role and improve their English skills. It�s ideal if English is not your first language and you want to build your confidence before starting further training or work.You don�t need any experience, just an interest in helping others and learning more about working in care. Before you start the course, we will invite to attend a welcome event to ensure your level of English is appropriate for the course.
