Course Details

Course content includes a wide range of topics delivered to include:�Introduction to the role of the early years educatorHolistic child development Children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)Effective communication in an early years settingSafeguarding and welfare requirementsHealth, wellbeing and safety Promoting an effective early years curriculumAssessment of children's learning and development Understanding play for learning and holistic developmentPartnership working�Progress is monitored and assessments arranged which take place on-the-job. An emphasis is on practical skills supported by knowledge. Assessment has three aspects: observation of performance, knowledge and understanding you show to written/oral questioning and assignments, and a portfolio of supporting evidence. Completion of the Level 3 Technical Occupational Diploma will support you in gaining full-time employment in Early years as a qualified Early Years Educator.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessed through set assignments and through workplace observations and professional discussions. An e-portfolio of evidence is collated with the support of your tutor and assessor to meet the assessment criteria.

Entry requirements

A Level 2 qualification is preferable in Early Years or equivalent but experience will be considered.Maths and English levels to be discussed at interview, preferable GCSE grade 4/C.
