Course Summary

Study this apprenticeship to develop the skills you need to qualify as a Craft Bricklayer and work in the fast-paced world of construction. Craft Bricklayers are responsible for planning and organising the work on site for the team, as well as verifying the quality of the completed work. This apprenticeship will hone your skills and prepare you for industry.

Course Details

Craft bricklayers plan and organise the work site, both for themselves and others and verify the quality of the work of others within their team. They are technical experts in their team, providing direction and advice to others and advise on work approach and problem solving. They are responsible for ensuring the masonry element of the construction programme is delivered to specification, time and in a safe and sustainable manner. Craft bricklayers typically work outdoors on construction sites, in most weathers and at height.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Your progress is continually monitored throughout the course. Assessments are arranged when necessary and these take place on-the-job. Together with the college day release course, which would be over 24-30 months. Assessments will include: By observing your performance; responses to written and/or spoken questions to show your knowledge and understanding; e-portfolio of supporting evidence containing testimonies, reflective accounts, assignments, work products such as activity planning sheets, completed risk assessments, continual professional development evidence. Once you have completed your programme, met all of the pre-requisites for the End Point Assessment, including English and maths requirements, and your employer is satisfied that you are consistently working at or above the level set out in the occupational standard, you will be put through for your End Point Assessment which will take place within a 4 month period. Entry requirements

Applicants must have completed the�Level 2 Bricklaying Apprenticeship.�A minimum expectation of GCSE Grade 4's in English and maths or equivalent.
