Course Summary

Our construction course allows learners to develop a variety of skills. Learners will be taught tool identification, cavity walling, corner building, block work, painting and decorating and plastering. We also offer an engaging joinery course where students can build their own models. Our course includes functional skills throughout to support the students in gaining the relevant industry knowledge.

Course Details

You will learn in our workshops with the opportunities to do lots of practical work. The course will cover a range of multi skills including bricklaying and painting and decorating. You will also learn about essential safety that is demanded by the construction industry to prepare you for employment. There are a range of units in construction and painting and decorating which can include: � Health, safety and welfare in the construction industry � Principles of building construction, information and communication.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be required to complete a range of written assignments. You will also be required to demonstrate some skills whilst being observed by your tutor.

Entry requirements

Completion of a Level 1 Construction qualification and a GCSE grade 2 or above in English and Maths or E3 Functional Skills.
