Course Summary
This qualification develops the essential maths skills you need to succeed in further learning, employment and everyday life. Recognised by employers, colleges and apprenticeship providers as an alternative to GCSE, it focuses on real-life applications of maths rather than abstract theory.
Course Details
You will strengthen your confidence in three key areas:
Number and the number system � whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages and ratios
Measures, shape and space � working with metric units, time, perimeter, area, volume and interpreting diagrams
Data handling � collecting, organising and interpreting information, using charts, graphs and probability
You will learn how to apply maths to practical tasks such as budgeting, shopping, planning journeys, measuring for construction, and workplace problem-solving.

Questions are based on realistic, problem-solving scenarios
Calculators may be used for part of the assessment
