Course Details
The aim of the course is to offer you the opportunity to gain the skills demanded by employers in accounting and finance, whilst achieving an internationally recognised qualification that could ultimately lead to the full AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Accounting Qualification and full AAT membership.You will attend the College on a full-time basis over one year. There will also be study time to enable you to consolidate the work carried out in lectures.All units are mandatory and the subjects include:Introduction to BookkeepingPrinciples of Control AccountsPrinciples of CostingBusiness AwarenessSage Computerised AccountsSage PayrollWork ExperienceYou will be required to undertake a 2 week, block, work experience placement to embed your knowledge in a practical environment.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You are assessed against the standards of competence laid down by the AAT, you will need to achieve a minimum of 70 per cent in all of the computer-based assessments.
Entry requirements
You will need four GCSEs graded between 4-9; including English Language and Maths to study this course. Other equivalent qualifications may be considered.
Your next steps...
After successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate many students progress to our AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, often as part of an apprenticeship programme. Alternative Level 3 qualifications in business & associated areas are also possible.
