During the course you will cover a wide range of units including health and safety, client communication, apply air-brush make up to face, camouflage make-up, media make-up, fashion and photographic make-up, style and fit postiche, apply prosthetic pieces and bald caps, bridal hair styling and fantasy hair design for performers. You will gain skills in every aspect of advanced make-up and develop creative techniques for stage and screen. On completing the course, you will have a wealth of options for working within the industry or taking on further study towards your ideal career. Industry placement is a significant part of the course as it helps you gain the hands-on experience and confidence you need to make your way into the workplace.

You are continually assessed throughout the course by building a portfolio of work. Practical assessments will be observed by your assessor on a selection of clients. External assessments will be completed at the end of certain units by online test.

You will need a Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-up or alternative Make-up qualification and maths and English at appropriate levels.

Completion of this course leads to career prospects in the make-up and beauty industry and also enables you to progress to other courses at University.
