This course aims to introduce you to a range of topics relevant to the music industry. It is designed to prepare you for progression at Level 3 providing students with performance experiences and opportunities to develop skills and talents relevant to the industry. You will have the opportunity to perform and produce work showcasing your music product, demonstrating your creativity and skills along with working on group projects, sharing ideas and building your teamwork and communication skills. The study programme will also incorporate a range of work related experience activities to ensure that you have the breadth of skills required to progress to further/higher, employment or an apprenticeship.

You are assessed throughout the course both formally and informally. Assessments take the form of both practical and theory, which is assessed and evaluated by the staff who teach you. The results are available for discussion and advice and you are given a record showing how best you might progress on the course. Your overall qualification is designated a Pass, Merit, Distinction, Distinction*.

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above. However, if you have a keen interest in the subject and commitment to succeed, your entry requirements will be discussed at your course discussion appointment.�

This nationally recognised qualification (equivalent to 3 A Levels) is ideal for those wishing to progress to university in a related subject or to employment.
