Prepare for a dynamic career in Engineering with our Level 2 Certificate in Engineering. Delve into the fundamentals of mechanical, electrical and design engineering. This programme equips you with the skills needed in various engineering fields. Whether your interest lies in design, manufacturing, or technology, this certificate sets the foundation for a successful engineering career.

Course Details

This course will provide you with a broad understanding of mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering that will prepare you to study at Level 3 or for employment as an engineering apprentice. You will study a range of core subjects to give you a good grounding in engineering basics including working safely, using and interpreting engineering information and engineering maths.�You will also take other subjects to give you a broader understanding of key engineering principles. These may include Electrical and Mechanical Science, Maths and an understanding of a range of engineering processes and other topics. You will continue to improve your Maths and/or English skills in structured lessons alongside your course, and if you plan to progress to a Level 3 course you will need to demonstrate a satisfactory level of improvement in Maths and/or English by the end of the year.You will learn through a lot of different activities across your course. These will include classroom based learning, completing projects, and learning using specialist equipment in our laboratories and workshops. You will also be expected to complete projects and assignments outside of your main classes.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will complete a range of projects, assignments, presentations and contextualised English and Maths. These will be assessed as you go through the course so that you know how you are doing. There will be two external assessments throughout the course.

Entry requirements

As a condition of being offered a place on this course, you would be expected to meet the following entry requirements:Submit a school report showing your attendance, behaviour and effort details.You will need to achieve/have achieved GCSEs at grade 4 in Maths and grade 3 in�English Language.
