You will be assessed by the use of practical assessments and assignments that will form part of a portfolio of your work. You will also complete practical and theory tests at the end of your training course.

As a condition of being offered a place on this course, you would be expected to meet the following entry requirements:Submit a school report showing your attendance, behaviour and effort details.You will need to achieve/have achieved GCSEs at grade 3 or above in Maths and a grade 2 or above in English Language.

Having completed the course, you will be well prepared to progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery full time course, you'll also have the opportunity to advance to a Level 2 Apprenticeship standard in Wood Occupations at NSCG College or opt for a Traineeship with another provider. The apprenticeship is a standard which incorporates a diverse array of knowledge, skills, and behaviours necessary to excel in your profession and successfully complete the end point assessment.
