Level 2 Certificate In Supporting Teaching And Learning

Designed to help you to gain the skills employers are looking for, this course will give you the foundations to develop as a professional to work with children or young people in a school or college setting.

The course is assessed through a range of assessment methods; these include direct observation of performance in the workplace, professional discussions, assignments, presentations, written/oral questioning. All evidence is collated and presented in an e-portfolio.

Applicants should gain a minimum of Level 1 in maths and English initial assessments. A good working knowledge of ICT is also required. In addition applicants must have had some experience as a teaching assistant in a school setting and have at least 6 hours per week guaranteed before the course starts - paid or voluntary.

This course may lead to a Level 3 diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning or a range of short courses suitable to support your role within the school environment.
