Course Summary
This part-time qualification is ideal for adult learners looking to work with children between birth and 5 years, and gain knowledge of working with children up to 7 years. As a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner, you�ll play a vital role in supporting the social and physical development of children ages 0-5, using imaginative learning techniques, encouraging language and literacy skills, and promoting independence along with the way.
Course Details
The course content includes topics such as Health & Safety, Child Development (0-7 years) and how to support this, Communication, Personal Development, Safeguarding and activities to support learning and development.Progress is monitored and assessments arranged which take place on-the-job. An emphasis is on practical skills supported by knowledge.�
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment is through observation of performance in the workplace, knowledge and understanding you show through written/oral questioning and assignments and an e-portfolio of supporting evidence is also collated.
Entry requirements
The course is ideal for those with an interest in Early Years and maybe considering a change in career. Good level of maths and English required. Entry is by interview, where your individual needs and career prospects will be discussed. A paid or voluntary workplace must be in place to start this course.
