Course Details

This qualification covers a range of key subject areas that provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to care for and educate children aged between 0 and 11 years 11 months old. Some of the units that are covered during this qualification include: child development, play and learning, exploring legislation, the role of the practitioner, nutrition and physical develop. Within the course you will also study GCSE Maths and English Language (if required).�

How will it be delivered and assessed?

This qualification is made up of 6 units assessed through assignments. There are no external exams included in this qualification. Two placements are required to be completed, one in a nursery setting and one in a school with a placement visit in each. There is also a mandatory Professional Skills Record (PSR) which must be completed during the work placement.

Entry requirements

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above. However, if you have a keen interest in the subject and commitment to succeed, your entry requirements will be discussed at your course discussion appointment.

If you are successful on this course, achieving a Merit grade or above and GCSE English Language at grade 4 or above, you may be able to continue studying the T Level in Education and Early Years (subject to entry criteria)
