Course Summary
This course�offers learners a comprehensive understanding of the knowledge and skills required for direct engagement with children and young people in school and college settings. Covering essential aspects such as promoting positive behaviour, providing pupil support, utilising information and communication technology, and fostering children's social development.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
The course is assessed through a range of assessment methods; these include direct observation of performance in the workplace, professional discussions, assignments, presentations, written/oral questioning. All evidence is collated and presented in an e-portfolio.
Entry requirements
Applicants should hold a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Supporting Teaching & Learning and a preferable Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy. A good working knowledge of ICT is also required. In addition applicants must have had significant experience as a teaching assistant in a school setting and have a minimum 10 hours per week guaranteed before the course starts.
