Environmental Science A Level

A Level Environmental Science is the study of how our planet works and how we can protect it for future generations. You’ll explore ecosystems, pollution, climate change, energy resources, and human impacts on the environment, combining ideas from biology, chemistry, geography, and politics to understand some of today’s biggest global challenges.

The course builds valuable skills in scientific investigation, data analysis, and problem-solving. You’ll learn to evaluate complex issues from different perspectives and suggest evidence-based solutions – skills highly valued by universities and employers as demand for sustainability professionals grow.

Environmental Science opens up a wide and growing range of future opportunities. Many students go on to study Environmental Science, Sustainability, Conservation, Ecology, Marine Biology, or Geography at university. Increasingly, students are also choosing degree apprenticeships in environmental consultancy, water management, and energy analysis.

The skills you develop—research, critical thinking, teamwork, communication—are highly transferable and in demand across many industries. Environmental Science students have progressed into careers in renewable energy, sustainable business, wildlife conservation, environmental education, ecological surveying, policy, and urban planning.
