French A Level

This course enables students to get a deeper understanding of the French Language, Society and Culture while studying Literature and a Film.

Lessons are in the Target Language which students get used to very quickly. We focus on the four main skills of Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. This course will provide you with excellent communication skills which are useful in future careers in general.

Year One:

Year Two

• France 1940-1950: The Occupation and post-war years

Exams: 100%

You should have a solid grasp of GCSE grammar and topics, and be willing to speak French in front of others. An interest in French language, culture, and society is essential to get the most out of this course.

A Level French opens doors to university study, either as a standalone language or combined with another subject such as Business, Law, History, or Politics. Employers value the strong communication and cultural awareness that language students bring, leading to careers in translation, teaching, international business, diplomacy, and more.
