Course Summary

Ever wondered Does God exist? Is religion still relevant? Who is Jesus, and does he matter today? OCR A Level Religious Studies lets you explore these big questions through philosophy, ethics, and Christianity, developing your ability to think critically, analyse ideas, and reflect on your own values.

With expert teachers, high-quality resources, and no prior RS experience required, this course challenges you to question, debate, and discover new ways of thinking about the world.

Course Details

  • Philosophy of Religion – Greek philosophy, body and soul, religious experience, arguments for and against the existence of God, the problem of evil.
  • Ethics – Ethical theories, sex and sexuality, euthanasia, ethical language, conscience, God and ethics.
  • Developments in Christian Thought – Human nature and the meaning of life, life after death, the Bible, Jesus, the challenge of secularism, gender in theology.

Entry requirements

This course is perfect for curious, open-minded thinkers who love asking big questions. You’ll need to be comfortable with writing logical, extended essays and analysing complex ideas. No prior RS or Philosophy GCSE is required – just strong literacy skills and a willingness to explore challenging concepts.
